I was approached to create a box to hold a very fragile and expensive ornament  - it was a sculpture of a boxing ring made entirely out of glass.

This posed a intersting challend - its size and shape meant it would be difficult to make a normal box to put this in, it needed some nifty egineering work.

So I designed a box which was hinged in two places - with a lift up lid and a flap down side. This allowed me to put in a sliding shelf hich could be pulled out to safely get the ornament in and out.

The timber used was maple and walnut to create an interesting contrast in tone, the inside of the box was lined with a dark green fabric.
